Japanese Gender Inequality:
Wake up, Japan! Discrimination creates more problems.
Tokyo Medical school purposely failing women’s entrance exam because the school thinks that women will leave the workforce after having children.
What did we learn from this?
- We shouldn’t be questioning
- We have to be patient
- We have to be quiet
- We should only be answering if the answer is right
What does this mean for us?
No, this is not women’s fault.
This is a social and systematical problem that we must address!
Discrimination creates more problems.
In fact, discrimination creates more problems.
Discrimination also creates a population problem.
Because the Japanese society is failed to create working environments/conditions where women can work equality. Society is forcing us to chose either a career or a family. There is not enough childcare so the mothers are forced to stay at home or the work condition is too demanding we have to give up our career in order to start a family.
Let’s look at the Japanese population.
What are we, women supposed to do?
What can we do?
Ok, we can talk about this all day or those people who are responsible can just apologize for those whose career path got ruined by this gender discrimination…
Be educated! Don’t run away! Don’t shy away!
- We are not fighting men against women.
- We, as women are not asking to be treated. We are asking to be treated the same.
- Women should not have to work twice as much as men.
